Florida Homeowners Face Increased Insurance Rates, Cancellation

Since the beginning of the year, three Florida property insurers have been declared insolvent and gone into receivership. Another four property insurers expect to raise rates by more than 20%. And FedNat will cancel 56,500 policies and move another 83,000 policies to Monarch National Insurance. Gov. Ron DeSantis called a special legislative session with hopes of significant reforms to stabilize the state’s insurance system.
