Insurer and Employer Presumed Guilty of Trying To Fleece Taxpayer When Settlements Are Not Reviewed By CMS

The updated rules state that CMS may refuse to pay for additional medical care for claimants whose settlement was not reviewed by set-asides contractors until the claimant spends their entire settlement on medical expenses. The goal is to ensure employers set aside enough money to provide care for the claimant’s injury for the lifetime of that injury.
