State Lawmakers Amend Statute to Allow Exclusions

The Mississippi Supreme Court had previously held that all exclusions were invalid due to Mississippi's mandatory liability policy which holds that all vehicles operating in Mississippi must have at least the minimum coverage at all times regardless of who is driving. The bill that was passed by both Houses of the Mississippi Legislature and signed by the Governor, went into effect July 1, 2015 and allows for these types of exclusions “as long as … [they] have been filed with and approved by the Commissioner of Insurance.” Read the full bill:
